Industrial worksites such as oil refineries, textile miles, and grain silos require their lighting products to be safety approved. Non-safety approved flashlights can give off sparks or become dangerously hot, which can ignite flammable gases or flying debris. The Peli line of safety-approved flashlights, headlamps, and RALS have been certified as intrinsically safe or explosion-proof in Class I, II, or III environments. Products must pass a battery of rigorous tests conducted by safety agencies before getting a stamp of approval, which can include receiving a UL, IECEX, or SGS approval. Peli Safety Rated lights have anti-static properties and are made from impact modified PC/PBT resin.
